The senior trail and Best Mate looked to have the race sown up only to be nabbed on the line by last years puppy Limber and not far behind last years pup champ  Acorn

in the junior trail anyone of a dozen had a chance of winning and on the line it was Monday’s second  Jenny’s Quest stuck her head in front to deny Foxparke Bugaboo And Jog on.

The next three winners won rather easily , all returned favourites.

Report. A second visit to wardhall in less than a week and all change in the seniors as Best Mate showed his rivals a clean pair of heels beating babycham  by ten yards with the favourite Miterdale Shadow back in fifth place.

The juniors ,the same three but in a different order, Silver Dancer’s turn, Wait and see , what happens next week !

Once again ” the Beast” got the better of a couple of Kinnisides and to keep it in the family spotty dog ( Best mates sister) won the all=in.

report. 105 hounds turned out at Potter’s Park on a fine but chilly monday  evening. The Seniors and former Champion Jenny’s aura beat last  seasons puppy champion Acorn, these two came with a healthy lead . Huntsman’s Major was third just in front of last seasons champion Crazy.

the pups and a close finish with the spoils going to Young Harry , who has been prominent  throughout the trials, he held on to beat jenny’s Quest with the ticketing  hounds in close attendance

The open maidens came on to the finish like an Indian raiding party and appropriately led by Apache who held on for a narrow win,

Report. The first day of the shortened 2020 season got underway at wardhall courtesy of the Cockermouth and Workington area committee.  In the seniors Miterdale Shadow  took the honours and is going to be a strong contender for the senior title. Acorn missed the jump on the finish, otherwise it could have been a lot closer, Cuckoo lane put in a good run , his first on the course, to finish in sixth position.

The junior trail and the three” locals ” stole a march,and finished well clear, silver mist  beating kennelmate silver Dancer with , the aptly named , Wait and See in third.

A close finish in the maidens and Release The Beast put a “cheesy” smile on Brian’s face, the course specialist  beat blue diamond and Trev .

The first veteran of the season and Thorn Fire had an easy win over Spring dazzler and McCoy in third

The practice trails at Kirkstone and Dubs Lane realised a profit of £450.

This will be donated to Troutbeck village school- riding for the disabled- coniston                                                            foxhounds- St Johns hospice.
