Report. It was a muggy night at Ward hall, the visibility was poor, there was light rain and although at the time we were unaware that it was going to be a long night.
The seniors and once again Thorn Fire showed a fine turn of finishing speed to beat a surprising second in the shape of Wild Gypsy who was competing in her first senior trail- a progeny of the Westgate’s , not two year old until August and the downfall of a few bob on the third- Arizona.
The pup trail, what happened? we might find out , we might not , but all of them returned to the start and in my experience it looked like they had circled hit the trail the wrong way and ‘come back’ as they were racing and were practically in correct order.
The restricted hounds together with some pups got round but again, although within the time limit they were five minutes slower than average and the last hound was rounded up at 10pm. Not taking any shine off the win of Sunset Ridge, who came well clear of Free Spirit and JLS.
