Report.
Would they or wouldn’t they?, that was the question as the six hounds set off?- Get round after Tuesday nights fiasco! Well they did- although not without a few stops on the way.
As they went past the ‘field’ Debra led from Arizona, Thorn Dancer was in third after scaling badly, Arizona stopped and then went with ‘Dancer’ and when they showed again ‘ Dancer was in front and the fourth hound ‘Ty’ was making headway. On the testing finish and it was Arizona and ‘Ty’ who raced together with the former winning by a couple of lengths.
In the pups and the ‘General’ seemed to have thrown away the race when he landed on his head jumping the second last but like his owner , got up , shook himself, hard as nails these hounds! and ran on to hold Telstar by a length with the fast finishing Silver Dusk in Third.
The open maidens and making most of the running Cool Return just held off the late challenge of the Tebay hound Black Mist. And in the veterans old rivals Artisan and Silver Spangle battled it out , victory once again going to the Kendal hound Artisan, who looks destined to be veteran champion.
