30th September 2024 – Border Supporters

A fantastic sum of £900 was raised yesterday at Caret Rigg for Cancer Research in memory of Elliot Borthwick, Douglas Elliot, Tucker Richardson.
It’s very hard to know where to start thanking people for their generosity, but here goes – Prize Money sponsors, Chris Reid Border Forestry, Carol & George.
The Elliot family for use of their beautiful land – I know I’m slightly biased, but its Gods country up there!
Andrew, Sarah and Hamish giving up their time to lay the trails, not an easy job on those slopes!
Lee for judging & scouting. Gladys for doing the gate. Podge, Susan,  Paul, Emmie, Oliver & Georgia for their hard work.
Border Supporters for the rosettes.
The many, many people who gave kind donations on the day.
Everyone for coming to support us.

A heartfelt thanks from Marti & Mary

28th September 2024 – message from secretary

All Area December meeting will take place on Sunday the 1st December at 1.30pm at the Cons Club Keswick. All those currently on an Area committee are invited to attend.

Can I also remind everyone that the Area Annual General Meetings will be starting to take place in November dates will be confirmed soon. Anyone wishing to propose any notices of motion for consideration at their local Area Annual General meeting will need to get these to me in writing/via email at least three clear days before the meeting. They need to be duly proposed and seconded by members eligible under clause 22.

To make things easier anyone proposing a change to an existing rule should quote the existing rule first and then quote the proposed wording for the amended rule.

If anyone wants any advice about this please get in touch.

Thanks Fiona

There will be a fixture committee meeting on the 23rd September Brewers fayre at 7.00pm. Also just a reminder that all fixtures for October will need to be finalised and with the secretary by close of play on the 26th September. After this point there will be no changes to the fixture list.

10th September 2024 – message from Cockermouth and Workington Area

Anyone travelling from Whitehaven way to the Buttermere trails tonight need to set off earlier as the road is closed between Loweswater to the Buttermere turn off. There is a diversion which takes you through Thackthwaite along the back roads to Lorton and then you travel back on yourself. Alternatively you can travel to Cockermouth and then come back in through Lorton to the turn off. Which ever route you take you will need to give yourselves extra time.

8th September 2024 – message from Asaptria and Wigton Area

The Area committee would like to thank all those who helped, supported and sponsored the Dickie Smithson Memorial trails today at Sandale. A grand total of £440.07 was raised and will go to Dickie’s family to be distributed to their chosen charities. Once again thanks to all those who supported the trails.

Thanks Colin
