Just to clarify ‘ running out of petrol’ Jim Batty has a habit of -not keeping his tank full I mean! ‘ what’s the point of having £ 10’s of ‘juice’  when the £10 could be put to better use . Anyway on Monday he got as far as Holmrook on his way home – when,- Phut – phut – phut went the motor phut- phut- phut went the car and so on. He hitched a lift in a ‘ Merc’ to Millom just in time for his sausages.

Now there is another tale- because he has done it again, burnt the sausages.

Peep..Peep,Peep went the reversing sound of the bin wagon ,or so Jim thought but it was the smoke alarm not the bin wagon and once more burnt offal.

Well done Mark Steele on completing the three peaks at the age of thirteen, the three peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon, a remarkable achievement and so say all of us!

Anybody visiting Millom and has witnessed the fire engine flashing by on a ‘shout’ will  be glad to know it is nothing important – only Jimmy Batty’s sausages turning black in the frying pan for the fourth time.

A new addition to the trailing field – Eleanor May Chisholm, courtesy of Amy and Duncan– ‘ That’s Life I did it My Way’.

The pup trailers , David Crowe and Jackson  Nicholson  had to walk to the split at Kirkland,  due to unforeseen circumstances, putting them half an hour behind schedule  well they were only ten minutes late , good work !

Nice to see our members from Devon- Brian and Caroline Seward at Lazonby on Saturday Night and also Aston Villa- West Brom John also- on one of his frequent visits to the lakes.

Apologies for the quality of some of the videos well not much the quality but too much grass and the backs of hounds only, it can only get better  LOL.

See Donald celebrated his 88th in the local – that is what I meant by ‘active’ LOL.

Nicola Napier’s white van has passed its MOT – now the clutch is ‘playing up’ So Be It – Turbo charged- don’t know what the hullabaloo is about- as long as the honky tonk works we are homeward bound.

New recruits ( moving to Windermere) Steve and Christina Watts made the long journey to Oulton on Sunday just to watch the first two trails- trails put back- they went back- consulation he backed Jazz Singer- well he thinks he has but I never put the bet on- spent the tenner on raffle tickets  – won a family document file , correction Steve now has a family document file.

When you are trying to find a new venue it may well help you to remember that if things went ‘pear – shaped’ 50years ago then perhaps it might be prudent to wait another 50 years before asking permission. Anon!

 

Thanks to Lisa Crosby and to some part Ed £200 was handed over to the junior club in the capable hands of Joanna.

This was the proceeds of a competition for a much sought after ‘doll’, it was eventually won by the grand -daughter of Malcolm and Ann Holmes from Skelton- Grace.

Did the ‘ undertaker’ fall for the old trick – You pay the gate money – I’ll  pay for the entries- I think not! – But! then again! he is getting on a bit.

By the way Nicola Napier has acquired transport- Horse and Cart! Is love and marriage on the horizon ? Only for the brave!

The trails at Grange in Borrowdale scheduled for Thursday 7th April  HAVE BEEN CANCELLED.

The dispute and underlying problems facing the future of trails in the Lamplugh – Kirkland  and surrounding areas have , I’am  glad to report , been resolved.

Perhaps now we can get on with our trailing and put past differences to one side.
