Report:
A fine night and a lot warmer , perhaps we might see spring after all.
The senior trail ,after a slightly altered start, came past the field after twelve minutes in single file- eleven hounds in with a ‘shout’. But, on the long run in , it was down to three hounds and after a head to head race it was B E P that stuck his head out on the line for a narrow win over ‘Bethan’ ,Jenny’s a close up third.
In the junior trail ,and not for the first time at Rusland ; we had a clear winner when Christine Brownlee’s Menorah lost her maiden tag winning in splendid isolation. The last three to finish provided the crowd with the best finish of the night – a precursor for the Rusland show maidens- perhaps?
The biggest field of the night, or perhaps one of Ruslands biggest fields, was won emphatically by the favourite Explore . She easily beat Tommy’s legacy and third Jimmy Nik and the nine runners in the last were led in by another easy winner Tinkerbelle, making it a successful night for the ‘locals’ with three winners.
