Report. Although there were only four runners it was nevertheless an intriguing contest and all four were together for most of the race. onto the finish and Bracelet and Santino showed in front with Arizona in third. Knowing that the owner had a substantial wager on his charge, Sadie started to shout with great gusto and Arizona scored his first win of the season and will not be a maiden next year.
The pups and would you credit it – Telstar made the same mistake as Tuesday and gifted the race to – not Dawn but Dusk- Silver Dusk , making a double for the Dearham kennel.and in the last Silver Spangle , following up from its veterans win on Tuesday won the restricted trail from Sunset Ridge , making it a clean sweep for Dearham .
A couple of tales from tonight – in the pup trail the message given to the scout was that there was 22 runners , when in fact there were only 21 , therefore there was one hound to cross , its ours said Geoff and Ian, celebrating Englands win over Wales and consequently they prepared themselves to catch the hound ( with permission) as it was tailed off- they stood at the crossing like two cricketers in the slips – first slip and leg slip and – waited and waited- by this time ‘Bess ‘ had completed the trail and was standing bemused on the finish as there was no catchers, where were they , still standing on the road. ‘Nuff said.
And if you are still a maiden then don’t win a restricted trail but nobody tells the hound not to win and worse still is if the owner is on holiday and somebody else is caring for the hound suddenly finds himself in this predicament, what do you do , tell it to stop, hope it tumbles, ring ‘scrunt’ and ask him for advice, well! Silver Spangle came to Tut’s rescue and Sunset Ridge lives to win another day.
