Report

A fine night getting colder greeted trailers to the final trail at Bower House for the early season meets.

The Senior trail provided us with four hound finish where Fireman Sam came from fourth place to show in front through the last gate and held on over the fast finishing Galemire with last weeks winner Serenity and favourite Try Again in fourth.

The Junior trail gave a first open success to both the Jacksons Bewitched and the Patterdale hound ‘ Kooga’ the Judge couldn’t separate them.

Daisy Dream looking for a five timer was back in fourth. It was reported last week that she was named after a perfume- true said one wag you get it on the market.

The non-winners and another close finish between last weeks two second finishers Chavenel and Mickledore the former getting the nod by a head.

Onto the final event-I suppose you could call it the trail nobody wants to win and tonight was no exception judging by Neils  face when congratulated on his win. The Judge.once again had to consult the camera and a head denied the ‘ Oldcorn clan’ a double.

Well done to the promoters for a fortnights ‘Bower’ trails 387 runners close finishes. drama spiced with humour. and thanks to Steve for the field which came close to being prematurely ploughed.

PS. Who caught the  wrong hound, bait. lead. and away. clue?
